My art and photography is available printed on all kinds of things. I’m currently trialing five print-on-demand (p.o.d.) stores (listed in the menu at the top of every page): lower prices on Threadless and bundle discounts on Redbubble give great value overall, while Society6 has a greater range of products, including furniture, and some unique wall art options. Pixels (FAA) wall art comes in many sizes (without cropping the artwork unless a customer chooses) and offers many options when it comes to canvas and framed prints. I use Zazzle to supplement with products that are not available on any of the other stores.
Each of these sites are like a large online store with thousands of smaller artist/designer’s stores within them. Any products you buy from these sites are printed with designs by independent artists. No purchases are made on this site; all featured products link to the respective p.o.d. website where it is sold.
Artists sign up to these sites and are able to upload their own designs onto products the site offers, where they are made available to purchase by the public. Some sites charge different prices for the same product, they may even use the same printing manufacturers to fulfill orders. Most sites also have a different range of products.
When a purchase is made, the p.o.d. company will organize printing and shipping of the product(s) directly to you. The company keeps a percentage of the sale for the work they do, and the artist is also paid a percentage of the sale.
This page and some others on this site contain affiliate links, which are special URLs that contain the ID or username of the affiliate (me). This URL is used by the advertiser to track all traffic I send to their site, as well as to identify me in order to compensate me. I receive a commission if your click on one of these links leads to a sale (of mine or another artist’s work); this does not change the price for you, the customer.
I use affiliate links for 3 of the 5 p.o.d. companies I’m trialing – Redbubble, Society6 and Zazzle. The affiliate links are used on product images that link to these stores’ product pages, as well as menus or text that link to those stores; all products / prints displayed on this website (3boysenberries.art) and containing these links, is my own.
When you land on a product page of Redbubble, Society6 or Zazzle, you might notice that other artist’s products are displayed right there below my product / work, which has the potential to take you away from my work to other artists’ works. Therefor, I don’t have a problem, ethically, in taking reward from these large companies for doing their marketing for them if it leads to another artist’s sale. However I don’t particularly like my customers being tracked.
If you’d like to browse without affiliate links, the text and product images linking to my Pixels and Threadless stores don’t contain them. A menu will be created soon to be displayed on some product pages so you can see which stores offer which products; see Threadless or Pixels products separately.
Depending on each p.o.d. site, I more than likely don’t receive any information about my customers so it would be great to hear from you if you make a purchase 🙂 I’d appreciate your feedback on the product quality and the service you receive, or anything else you’d like to share.
Whether you are considering purchasing or have any questions about the process, have made a purchase, or are a fellow p.o.d. designer with something to share, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to get in touch here with any queries you have or start the conversation below in the comments and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
